If you want to build a swimming pool, it is required to make a design before you start to build it. This pool previously comes in bright blue painted rectangles. However, now you can find that swimming pool has variety shapes, sizes, materials, effects, and colors. Having swimming pool in your home can also make your landscape beautiful as well as provide hours of fun for your children. Besides, it can become a healthy way to exercise and also increase the value of your home. In order to maximize the benefits, here are going to give you some tips to design a swimming pool.

The first thing that you should do is to thoughtfully design the location. You can make the design that allows you to see it from your windows. You have to make sure that you will be able to keep an eye out when your children or pets are playing in or around the pool. Besides, you also need to make sure that the pool can be easily accessible to your house in a way for getting comfort and convenience.

The second thing is to make the design of the pool shape in order to make sure that it fits into the overall landscape of your house. The aesthetic and practicality are both essential when you are designing swimming pool. If you have natural garden, it would be best if you choose free-form rocky pool. Or, if you want to get great look in a controlled landscape, you can consider choosing a formal, geometrically shaped pool. Additionally, it is also important for you to ensure that you design your swimming pool with serviceable materials and form and easily cleanable. In order to create a wonderful design to gaze upon, you can design sculptures, rocks, and any other intrusions in the water.

The third thing that you need to consider when designing swimming pool is about the materials and style. You can determine the theme that can set the mood for your landscape. Just think about all of the possibilities that can be used for making your pool become the focal point of your garden landscape.

The fourth thing is to consider your budget. You have to make sure that your design will be suitable with the budget that you have. By consulting with a reputable professional, you can build the pool that will not make you over budgeting. If you are not sure to build your dream pool, you can consider to design with less expensive ways of creating the illusion.

The decision to acquire and set up an above ground or inground swimming pool is one of the joyful decision promising years of pleasure for you and your family. But it is always better if you have good understanding about the product before you are going to purchase it, knowledge of the other options available in the market for the same product; it helps to make your decision-making process far better & efficient.

Around 50% of the pools owned in the USA are aboveground. Many are turning to aboveground pools as they are built to last and offer a wide variety of wall and liner options. The other reason for the popularity of the above ground pools are

a.Cheaper than inground pools.

b.Offers a certain flexibility and convenience that an inground pool does not

c. Provides technically sophisticated options such as lighting and water features

d.Installation-friendly and low-maintenance.

e. Portability

When you are going to buy an above ground swimming pool there are some things you should keep in mind.

(1) Decide and measure the area where you will place your pool. Give some space around the pool for the clearance & to walk around the pool. You may also need to place the filter near the pool. Depending on the type of pool you choose, may need room for pool supports.

(2) Decide the best pool with respect to your need & budget. Temporary above ground pools such as those made by Intex, only stay in your yard during swim season. After swim season, they are taken down and stored. There are mainly two types of temporary pools: those with an inflatable ring at the top and the frame set type. While manufactured to be durable, these pools are not likely to last the 15 to 20 years that permanent above ground pools can last.

(3) Steel pools are the heaviest type of permanent above ground pools and can last 20 years or longer. Although these pools can rust, they are factory rust-proofed. Aluminum pools are resistant to rust, but oxidation can cause pitting in the pools surface and small holes in the liner over time. These pools are generally more expensive than steel pools, but may not feel quite as sturdy.

(4) Resin pools are the one of the latest type of above ground pools. They are not totally made of resin, but the parts that you can see are made of resin. Resin pools are light in weight & dont get rust. Resin pools can be carved and shaped during the manufacturing procedure.

(5) Decide from the two that you want a totally above ground pool or an on ground pool. On ground pools can be installed partially underground. They are a bit more expensive than above ground pools but will give a more custom look to your pool.

(6) Decide the shape and size of the pool you want to have at your place according to the area you can allocate for the pool. Mostly above ground pools are round or oval in shape, though there are some rectangular shaped pools available.

(7) Decide the type of filter, pool ladder, vacuum system and cover you want to have with your pool. There are a numerous options to choose. You should also decide that you want your pool to be salt-based or chlorine-based.

Once fall ends and winter begins to rear it’s ugly head, it will be time to shut your pool down. When shutting your pool down, the first step will be the water. You should begin by checking your pH level, and making sure that it is around 7.5. If it isn’t, simply add some dry acid. You should also check your chlorine as well, and use a winterizing product to make sure that your pool will be protected from algae during the few months that you won’t be swimming.

During the winter months, you should run your pump for around 6 hours a day, to ensure that the algae doesn’t settle in. You should also go ahead and check for any types of leaks as well, then switch your skimmer valve off and let the water drain to around 6 inches below the skimmer’s bottom. This way, you’ll have the preferred amount of water in your pool.

If you are using a summer cover, take it down and give it a good cleaning using fresh water and a pressure washer if you have access to one. Once you have cleaned the cover really good, go ahead and put it in your building or garage and break out your winter cover. It is not solar cover. When you put your winter cover on the pool, make sure that you have plenty of tension on the cover, to prevent anything from getting under it.

Although you may have put the cover on tight, you should still check it every couple of days to make sure that it is still tight. Remind your family and friends that you have closed your pool down for the winter, and that they shouldn’t be around it. Pool covers are designed to protect your pool and the water – they aren’t made for safety. Never, under any circumstances should you let a pet or a person on the cover.

Once you have finished with the pool cover, it is time for the equipment. You’ll need to drain the water from your pump, heater, and your filter. Each one should have a drain plug located somewhere near the bottom, which makes it easy to drain the water out. You should never forget to do this, as the water can freeze inside of your equipment during the cold months of winter and result in permanent damage of your equipment.

Once you have finished getting your swimming pool ready for winter, you can relax knowing that your pool is protected. Keeping a check on it every few days will ensure that nothing has happened. Once summer starts to arrive again, you can get your pool ready for summer and prepare to open it up again. If you’ve done things right – your pool will be ready to go in no time at all.

The fun of having your own backyard swimming pool is incomparable. You can have a refreshing dip during the scorching heat of the summer or host a pool party with your friends and family. Owning a pool though entails responsibilities that should not be taken for granted. It is important to have a good maintenance schedule and always keep a keen eye on the condition of the paint on your pool. Here are some tips to help you keep up with the paint job on your pool.

  • Budget. Determine how much money you are willing to spend for the paint of your swimming pool. The costs of available pool paints in the market are reasonably priced and easy on the pocket. It is a good idea though to have an allocated budget before you purchase your paint and painting materials.solar blanket
  • Keep records. It may have been three, four or even eight years since the last paint job on your pool. The important thing is that you should remember what type of paint was previously applied to your swimming pool. To avoid having any unwanted chemical reactions between paints, it is important to use the same type of paint. If you do decide to upgrade the paint type of your pool, be sure to read the label first if the paint will react positively to the current paint on your pool.
  • Color. Swimming pool paints come in an assortment of colors from the standard shades of white to deep aqua to custom made color combinations that may have all the colors of the rainbow. In deciding which one to use, you should consider the colors around your yard and your landscape and decide on the color shade that will best compliment your surroundings.bubble pool cover
  • The new pool. For first time paint application, first decide on the paint type that is most appropriate for your pool. The most durable would be the epoxy paint which when applied can last from 7-10 years. However, you may need to shell out additional dollars as epoxy paint is a bit pricey. Rubber base paints are less costly and can last 5-7 years. The easiest paint to apply and the cheapest would be the water base acrylic paints. Then again, you have to keep in mind that using water base acrylic paints would need re-painting after every 2-3 years.solar pool cover
  • Read the label. Before you start any actual painting for your swimming pool, read the label first and follow the safety guidelines on the package. Always make sure that you are in a well ventilated area. There are paints that require you to add thinning solutions, always make sure that you add just the right amount.

A swimming pool is a worthy investment for you and your family. Keeping that investment in perfect condition only requires you to have a regular maintenance schedule and a paint job every once in a while. If you put a bit of thought into it, caring for your pool shouldn’t be a difficult task at all.

Keeping your pool nice and clean is easier than ever these days due to the ever increasing level of quality cleaning accessories. There are several tools to choose from, including skimmers, brushes, and vacuum heads. These tools make pool maintenance easier than ever, meaning that you can spend more time swimming and less time cleaning.

The more specialized tools that are used to clean swimming pools include leaf skimmers, leaf rakes, brushes, corner brushes, pool sweeps, grids and cartridges for the filter, motors and pumps, pool filters, and many more. Most of these accessories are important, especially for those who have trees around their pool. Leafs in the water can be very annoying and distracting, and should be removed on a frequent basis.

The biggest aspect to keeping your pool nice and clean is to make sure that the care of your water is always up-to-date. There are lots of water care products that you can buy, including balancing chemicals, sanitizes, chemicals to treat algae, stain treatment products, water testing kits, and saltwater systems. Normally, chlorine is used as a sanitizer, as it helps to get rid of and prevent any organic material that exists in the water.

By using chlorine in your pool, you’ll help reduce the load that organic material puts on the filter. The regular maintenance of your pH balance and the right levels of alkalinity are also essential to keeping your pool clean. You should also make sure that you check your calcium as well. The pump that you apply is also important, as it may prevent the waste of energy. To make things easier on yourself, you will get an automatic pool cleaner

which will do almost everything for you.

To have the correct amount of chlorine feed, you’ll want to use hand feeding or tablet feeding. This will make sure you get the right level of chlorine in the water. Chlorine is also important for protecting skin, although you should attempt not to swallow water that has chlorine in it. There are saltwater chlorine generators out there also, which are the most popular ways to get the proper amount of chlorine in your water.

As long you use the proper cleaning supplies and products in your pool, you’ll be able to enjoy fresh and clean water whenever you decide to go swimming. Keeping your water clean is also healthy for the skin, and someone else who gets in your pool. You must ensure that you’ve cleaning supplies on hand, and check your water on a frequent basis. You may get a pool testing kit for a bit of nothing – which will more than pay for itself when you will decide to test your water.

  • NEVER DRAIN YOUR POOL!!!!!! Many swimming pool stores or maintainers will tell you to drain the pool if you are trying to clean it or trying to patch a hole. This WILL ruin your swimming pool liner!! 90% of the time, the pool liner  will not be able to hold water if you drain it all out. There are ways to clean a stain or to patch a hole without draining the pool. So, if you do not want to replace your pool liner every couple of years, then DO NOT drain the water.
  • As the pH levels are concerned, you want to keep that between 7.2 and 7.8. A value of 7 means the swimming pool water is pretty neutral. When the levels are below 7, the water is acidic, and if the level is above 7, then it is basic. The main reason why the pH levels should stay slightly more basic is because of our eyes and skin. The pH level of the human eye is between these levels, so you want to keep this steady on order to have safe swimming conditions.
  • As far as the chlorine level is concerned, you will want to keep that near 2.0. If the chlorine level is less than that, then you will want to stock the pool. If the level is higher than that, then lessen the amount you are putting in the pool.
  • If you use salt in your swimming pool, the levels depend on the kind of salt system you have installed. Many of these systems require the salt levels to be around 3000ppm, but others as low are 1000ppm. Many people like the lower levels because they don’t want to taste the salt when swimming, but others may not even notice. One thing to be aware of when using these units is that the salt can be very corrosive, so be aware of any damage on your swimming pool when using them.
  • The basic idea with maintaining your swimming pool is to be consistent. If these chemical levels are not up to par most to all of the time, algae or other bacterial substances may grow in the pool, which will then be hard to clean and keep out of you swimming pool. Create a maintenance system where you check these levels every other day, or something like that, so you can keep the swimming pool healthy. When the weather is warmer, you will want to watch these levels more closely.

David Phelps, owner of LinerWorld, has facilitated a swimming pool products company for the last 20 years, with his specialty being above ground swimming pools. He received his certification from the National Spa & Pool Institute for Tech 1, and has used this certification to improve the sales and services of his company. David has sold products and serviced tens of thousands of swimming pools across the USA.

At the end of the official Grown Ups trailer, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and Kevin James are seen wallowing in a swimming pool at a water park. James’s daughter approaches and asks, “Dad, are you making a sissy? You know they have a chemical in the pool that turns urine blue.” James responds, laughingly, “No, no, no, that’s an old wives’ tale, sweetie.” After which, of course, the camera zooms back, the child screams, and we see that all five men are surrounded by dark clouds of “sissy.” End joke.

But wait — the chemical that turns urine blue actually is an old wives’ tale, isn’t it? Vulture, a blog that has only ever swum politely in pools, investigates.

An e-mail to “the Poolman” of Poolinfo (“the most useful source of swimming pool information online”) was met with a definitive answer:

You are speaking of a product that is an urban legend. There is no such product available.

Case closed! (Although there is a product “to color the water in your pool for a short period of time,” although, alas, it is merely “for decor.”) So, everyone can now continue contaminating swimming pools without lingering fear of exposure by chemical detection. You are, however, disgusting and terrible people.
